Mary and I had an absolutely wonderful time at the Derby City Comic Con. Along with Eric, we were able to sell a great deal of books and get even more eyes on our stories, which makes me extremely happy.
Derby City itself was a resounding success, drawing in probably double what they were expecting for attendance. A big thanks and congratulations goes to Eric Banister and his crew for putting together a spectacular show. In turn his successes were our successes, so everyone walked away happy from this one.
As for the immediate future, I’ll be continuing to write on some new titles and stories, and editing some of the stuff I’ve already scribbled down. Be looking for some new concept art for a new title Vlad and I are tackling, as well as for the announcement for the last issue of the first Nightmare Unknown storyline. I’ve been working with Rob and Vlad to get the last pages in place, and can’t believe the quality that these artists produce. I’m such a lucky dude.
On a down note (and speaking of Dudes), I was in Louisville during Lebowski-fest and wasn’t able to attend. Probably for the best. Odds are, if I’d shown up, I would have drank my fair share of drinks, which would have possibly kept me from experiencing all the great fun that was had at the comic con the next day. Still, I did show my support—as seen by my awesome shirt—and I’ll be preparing myself for next year.
